Meadows Museum: Artist Brochure & Cards

During my graphic design internship, I had the privilege of contributing to the visual communications for the prestigious Meadows Art Museum in celebration of its historic 200th anniversary. The brief required designing a cohesive suite of promotional materials, including artist brochures and event cards, for an upcoming bicentennial exhibition. The primary objective was to inform and captivate Shreveport residents and the student body, balancing the museum’s rigid institutional aesthetic standards with fresh, artist-specific visual storytelling. Working within Adobe InDesign, I utilized a foundational brochure template and heavily customized its layout grid to maximize readability and visual impact. I established a clean typographical hierarchy that seamlessly integrated dense biographical text with high-resolution artwork blocks, ensuring the layout remained engaging for students and local art patrons alike. To maintain a unified visual brand across the campaign while celebrating individual artistic expression, I developed an adaptive color strategy. I engineered multiple design iterations, creating custom color palettes directly sampled from each featured artist's unique work. This technique allowed the brochures to feel deeply connected to the specific art on display while still anchoring safely within the museum's overarching brand standards. Furthermore, the Director of the Meadows Art Museum was so impressed by the clean layout structure, adaptability, and sophistication of the final design that the template was permanently adopted into the museum’s internal asset library. My work will serve as the structural framework for the institution's future exhibition brochures and promotional materials, leaving a lasting creative legacy.
